3 Ways to Manage Stress for College Exams

by Rob Sutter

"Will I be able to pass?" "What if I don't know all of the details?" "What happens if I forget something?" These are just a few of the most common questions that stressed college students will ask themselves, en route to the various exams they take. It doesn't matter if the exams in question are specifically rooted in art university studies or some other major entirely. Testing is part of the academic experience, but this doesn’t mean that the stress that comes with it can't be managed.

In my view, it's just a matter of recognizing the best ways to manage stress. Maybe you'll find it easy to manage stress through your smart device, complete with its own iPhone charger case, or maybe it'll be something you must search for. Whatever the case may be, if you're looking for ways to take care of stress, en route to any exam, consider these 3 pointers.

Find somewhere quiet to work - One of the quickest ways for frustration to build - and I am sure that others will attest to this - is with the presence of constant noise. While you may be a studious individual, the human mind can only take so much noise before details start to become lost. As a result, it'll be in your best interest to find a quieter location to complete your work. One of the possible examples would be your campus' library. Here, you'll be able to study about anything, including Long Island advertising agency services in your marketing class.

Give yourself a break - While it's commendable to work on a consistent basis, everyone has their limits. As a result, you have to be able to take breaks when you feel like you must. For instance, if you have been looking over your notes for an hour, it may be in your best interest to take a step away from your books or computer. Walk around for a bit or perhaps get lost in a form of entertainment. You may be surprised by just how much of a release a particular movie or video game can be. Take breaks because, in higher education, you'll require them.

Don't forget to rest - With such a high level of focus set on your studies, it's easy to forget about one of the most important qualities of life. I am, of course, talking about the element of rest. Specifically, you should make it a point to get as much sleep as you can, during each night. When you're able to do this, not only will you be well-rested, but you won't feel nearly as much weigh down your mental state. This is troublesome, to say the least, especially when you want to do nothing more than study for an upcoming exam. While the previous points are important, few can argue that rest trumps them.
